Vernon Victor HICKMAN
Birthplace: Hobart, Tasmania Died: 1984 BIOGRAPHY: Studied at Friend's High School from 1901 to 1911 and University of Tasmania from 1912 to 1914. Went to France in 1915 to fight for the Australian forces in the War. Back to Tasmania, was appointed chairman of the Chemistry Lab of the Launceston Technical College (1920) and in 1932 lecturer at the Biology Laboratory. Member of the Royal Society of Tasmania and of the Zoological Society of London. Vice-president of the Zoological section of the 1939 Congress of Australian and new Zealand Association for Advances in Science. |
