>Membros >Docentes >Marília Facó Soares Research interest and backgroundMarília Facó Soares currently chairs the Section of Linguistics of the
Department of Anthropology. She conducts research on the Tikuna language
and advises graduate students who work on Panoan languages. She has also
worked on languages of the Tupi-Guarani family. Her main areas of interest
include the syntax/phonology interface, phonological theory, language
change, discourse analysis and lexicography. Soares received her doctoral degree from UNICAMPI in 1992. She also holds a Master degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She is currently the president of ASSEL /Rio - Association for Language Studies of Rio de Janeiro.
